Earth 2.0 (Kepler-452B) |
This Planet (called as Kepler-452B) is at very similar distance from its star but its radius is 60% larger.
According to “Kepler Mission Scientists” they believe that “Kepler-452B” is more similar to Earth than any other Planet.
These are encouraging words for the astronauts because there is a possibility of presence of water and its environment is favorable for life.
NASA’s science Chief John Grunsfeld called the new world "Earth 2.0" and the "closest so far" to our home.
It is around 1,400 light years away from Earth.
Kepler-452B is one of the number of these planets are similar to Earth and Kepler-186f Planets is also a planet similar in many ways to Earth.

Kepler-452B revolve around a big star, which belongs to the same class as the Sun but its 4% bigger and 10% brighter to Earth’s Sun.
Kepler-452B complete its one circle around its star in 385 days so its orbital period is 5% longer than Earth's.
The mass of Kepler-452B cannot be measured yet. Therefore for that scientists have to estimate its mass by using different models and its mass can be five times more than of Earth. If its surface is rocky then there can be live volcanoes and its gravity can be double to that of Earth.
Kepler-452B system is 1400 light-years away from Earth.
12 new candidates who are less than twice the diameter of the Earth, which in a "habitable zone" revolving around their stars.
This zone refers to a range of distances at which the energy radiated by the star would permit water to exist as a liquid on the planet's surface if certain other conditions are also met.
In these 500 planets Kepler-452B is first to get “Planet Status”.
According to Dr. Doug Caldwell, a Seti Institute scientist working on Kepler Mission say that if indeed its surface is rocky and its location vis-a-vis its star could mean that it is just entering a runaway greenhouse phase of its climate history.

Kepler-452B is at where Earth will be a billion years later, when “Sun” will be older and brighter.
